Ford Mustang GT 520
Ford Mustang GT 520
If you've not heard of or followed the German car crafter Geider Cars, you have been missing out. Their latest creation is a fantastic twist on a Ford Mustang GT, dubbed the GT 520. This 520 horsepower / 415 lb ft of torque orange coupe reaches a top speed of 178 mph and has an incredible 10,000 watt sound system inside. Thrill seekers everywhere are sure to be pacified with the spectacular offerings Geiger serves up. Check out more inside.
First, GeigerCars took the stock displacement 3-valve 4.6 liter V8 and increased its displacement to 5.2 liters, machined the cylinder heads, installed a sport camshaft, and reinforced the entire valve train. Topping off this sundae of speed, is the cherry gem of a belt-driven supercharger coupled to a generously sized intercooler. Underneath, a complete stainless-steel high performance exhaust system follows up a high flow exhaust manifold as well to keep the redesigned powerplant breathing easier. All of these updates allow the GT 520 to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about four seconds.
Yet another notable modification applied is the sporty aerodynamic enhancement kit that not only provides function, but a form that is quite easy on the eyes as well. An updated front fascia with a large air dam supplies fresh cool air to all the coolers, lateral openings are contoured to maximize brake cooling, and an integrated front spoiler helps to reduce front end lift at speed. Smoothed rocker panels help round out the overall appearance, while some gorgeous chrome wheels add a fitting finishing touch.
Beneath the fantastic framework lies a specially tuned, height-adjustable GeigerCars coil-over suspension. Stiffer damper settings and a lowered ride height (50 millimeters) make the Ford Mustang coupe even more aggressive in the handling department. Add in some sport sway bars to minimize body roll in fast corners and to make turn-in more precise, and the car handles quite well when tasked.
The interior of the show car has been changed a lot from the stock-designed Ford Mustang: The exclusive fully leather black interior features highly contoured sport seats for improved lateral support, and, most of all, a multimedia sound system from JBL that was custom-tailored acoustically and visually to the interior of the Ford Mustang coupe.
