The 2012 Focus ECOnetic

At 3.5 litres/100km on the combined cycle, the Focus promises to be even more efficient than the smaller Ford Fiesta ECOnetic, which uses 3.7 litres/100km. The Focus’s CO2 emissions will also be lower, rated at 95g/km versus the Fiesta’s 98g/km.Based on the new global Focus design, the ECOnetic will go on sale in the UK early next year. Ford says it is more fuel efficient than any other petrol, diesel or hybrid compact vehicle currently on sale in Europe.
The 2012 Focus ECOnetic will be powered by the same 1.6-litre Ford Duratorq diesel engine as the Fiesta, although it has 77kW of power (up from 66kW) and has been optimised for enhanced fuel efficiency.
The upgraded 1.6-litre diesel engine incorporates a new injection system and turbocharger, upgraded charge cooling and increased friction reduction measures
