Mazda RX-8 Spirit R be the final version of the Mazda RX. This is a limited edition series. Mazda RX-8 Spirit R specifically presented to capture the spirit of Endurance Spirit of Mazda RX-8 that will soon end the production by Mazda Motor Corporation began in June 2012.

No significant changes of the Mazda RX-8 Spirit-R, only a few minor changes from the exterior and interior design.

The exterior just got a new touch to the bezel of the headlamps, rear combination lamps and the fog lights are changed to black. There is a special emblem bearing the 'Spirit R' in the C pillar to its own characteristics of this sports car.
The Interior, clad in black piano color decorate the center of the tunnel. Suture line located on the steering wheel, parking brake, seat and side door before the black, now appear more stylish in red. Mazda also offers a leather Recaro seats featuring black and red color combination to make the interior a more casual atmosphere.
