Los Angeles November 30, 2011, 2013 Scion tonight unveiled its FR-S compact rear-wheel drive sports car to a crowd of eager car enthusiasts. The FR-S, the which stands for Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive, Sport; is Scion definition of an authentic rear-wheel-drive sports car with exceptionally balanced performance and handling, compelling style, flexible utility and surprising MPG . "Serving as a laboratory for Toyota, Scion is always experimenting with new things, said Jack Hollis, Scion vice president."

The FR-S is a true "Scion, born into a lengthy history of Toyota performance cars and Motorsports. The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe was lightweight and well balanced, making it a solid choice for driving enthusiasts. Inspired by the AE86, the FR-S is designed around the core goal of Achieving, Pure Balance. The balance begins with the strategic use of the world only flat boxer engine in a front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. The engine's compact size and flat shape allow it to be mounted mid-ship and extremely low, giving the car a dynamically favorable front-to-rear weight ratio of 53:47 and a low center of gravity comparable to some exotic supercars. The FR-S's 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is the result of a joint Toyota and Subaru Between development.

The iQ truly focuses on youth with its all-new standard AM / FM / CD / HD / USB 160-watt maximum output Pioneer audio system. We stumbled upon two new videos featuring the Scion-badged version of the Toyota 86, the most interesting of which shows the rear-wheel drive coupe drifting on the track.

The second clip is from a recent presentation of the FR-S at a Cars and Coffee meeting in Irvine, California. What's special about this FR-S is that it is equipped with a Greddy sports exhaust system. You can check both videos for yourself right after the break.

2011 Scion FR-S Concept

Scion introduced the rear-wheel drive FR-S Sports Coupe Concept, the New York International Auto Show 2011. Scion FR-S Concept to inspire a new model to come Scion brand in 2012.

Summary: I have it for 5 months. Great car, very smooth transmission. If you like a smooth ride, this one is NOT for you. You will feel every bit of the roads which I like it. It will also cost you if you hit potholes. You would also take good care

Pros: Best bang for the buck. $19,000 gives you 180hp engine with 6spd tranny, 18in alloys, traction/stability control, great stereo, dual sunroof and many more.
Cons: Doesn't have a Ferrari engine and it's not free.

Summary: When is CNET going to have people that aren't ignorant of cars make a review.

Audio is also premium with very easy interface. I fit all my songs into one single USB memory stick the size of a penny. You don't even know it is there. I don't have to use my iPod or iPhone, even-though for Pandora, I just plug in my iPhone, no problem.
If you compare the specs in conjunction with the price, you would agree, a review is just a review, it doesn't mean anything until you drive one.
