2013 Chevrolet Malibu Debuts at 2011 New York


NEW YORK - Celebrating its world car status, General Motors, always simultaneously the first week in both the 2011 New York Auto Show and 2011 International Motor Show in Shanghai for its new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.The wheelbase of the midsize sedan has been reduced by 4.5 inches, but its overall length remains virtually unchanged. Width has increased by about 3 inches.



Parallel to the slightly smaller overall, the 2013 Malibu will also reduce the size of its engine range. The Malibu is offering a new 190 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder only. Ecotec DOHC direct injection engine is expected that 180 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is the transmission is only available to U.S. buyers.



Not a lot of changes to the chassis. In addition, MacPherson strut front and multilink rear setup with electrical control devices and four disc brakes. The wheels are in size 17-19 inches.



You may notice some design elements evident in the Chevrolet Malibu, and was completely intentional. "We wanted to bring the feeling of the family sedan sports segment," says Bryan Nesbitt, Executive Vice President of GM Design.
