2012 BMW ActiveHybrid 5 finally launched at the Tokyo Motor Show 2011. ActiveHybrid 5 is a hybrid product development of BMW's third, after the X6 and 7 Series. Products that take the model of the Series 5 family is experiencing major changes in the engine.
Type used is still equipped six-cylinder twin turbo and produces 340 PS power. This machine combined with a powerful 40-kilowatt electric motor is equivalent to 53 PS. Power is able to deliver this premium sedan reaches a speed of 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds from rest.

At low speeds (below 60 km / h), the battery can work alone and can survive as far as 5 km. BMW claims the use of a combination of fuel produces 14 km / liter with a CO2 emission level of 149 g / km.
BMW also include technology "Start-Stop System" that works on an ongoing basis with regenerative braking to generate good fuel efficiency. Coupled with the feature 'BMW Eco Pro driving mode', which helps the driver to adjust the throttle response is slowly and to disable the machine when it reaches a constant speed at 160 km / hour.
