American Muscle tests out their new 2013 Mustang GT at the drag strip

The 2013 Mustang has only started to arrive at dealerships, but already both customers and performance shops are already having fun with their new pony cars. The only thing we haven’t seen yet is someone take a 2013 Mustang to the drag strip. Until now.

American Muscle, who recently took delivery of their Gotta Have It Green 2013 Mustang project car, headed out to Cecil County Dragway in Maryland to see what the car could do, and the results are certainly impressive. With just 200 miles on the odometer and a tank full of 87 octane fuel, the 2013 Mustang’s 420 horsepower 5.0L V8 propelled it to a 12.74 second run at 111 mph. As a comparison American Muscle ran a 2013 Mustang V6 Convertible in the next lane that ran a respectable 14.92 @ 95 mph.

You can watch both 2013 Mustangs run at the drag strip in the video below.

American Muscle’s Dyno Wars finds out which pony makes the most power

AmericanMuscle.com and Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords magazine have teamed up for a new competition called Dyno Wars, pitting the most powerful Mustangs in the country against one another to see who makes the most horsepower. The rules are simple – “Run whatcha brung, and hope you brung enough!” Four of the events will be held throughout the country this year, the most recent happening a few weeks back at the American Muscle headquarters in Malvern, PA. The results are certainly impressive, with only one Mustang making less than 700 rwhp and the most powerful car – a turbocharged 2011 Mustang GT built by JPC Racing – netting over 900 rwhp. Combined the six Mustangs produced a total of nearly 5,000 horsepower.

Understated Class – Pristine 1967 Ford Mustang GTA

Although we often post about Eleanor on this site I cannot help thinking back to the original 1967 Mustangs. If I had my time over I probably would have gone down the route of a restoring my Mustang back to its original form and not an Eleanor. But never the less, It is great when you read about someone who has done just that. This is the case with Angelo Pavlis, the owner of this magnificent Silver Frost Metallic 1967 GTA Mustang.

There’s something about an original looking Mustang. It’s clean, simple and just classy. Forget the bolt on body kits, extravagent wheels and exhausts and modern add-ons. Keeping it original appeals to me so much more. It’s understated class to say the least.

Mustang Restorations in Illinois worked on the car to meet Angello’s exact specifications. Angello demanded a full restoration having every piece pristine to ensure the car looks and runs better than the day it rolled off the lot.

A street cam was added to give the car a nice idle. The 289CID engine was retained in favour of a larger block and the original automatic C-4 transmission was also used.

Supercharged Boss 302 makes 640 rwhp on the dyno

ProCharger has an impressive lineup of supercharger systems for the current Mustang lineup, from the HO, Stage II and cog race systems for the 5.0-liter V8 to the supercharger for the 3.7-liter V6. ProCharger has proved their worth on track as well, with a Mustang V6 running in the 12s and a 5.0-powered Mustang netting a 9-second time slip.

Now ProCharger has turned its attention to the Boss 302 as well. The company has fitted their intercooled supercharger system to a 2012 Competition Orange model and strapped it to the dyno to see just how much power it would produce. With a little extra help from a set of Kooks longtube headers, the Boss 302 puts out an impressive 640 rwhp on just 7.5 psi of boost.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL: Feast Your Eyes on 60 High-Res Photos and the First Official Videos

The last couple of days, the sixth-generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL roadster has been one of the hottest subjects on the web – and rightly so, as it introduces several new technologies that will eventually trickle down to the premium automaker's other models.

There's a lot to mention, but one of the highlights is the aluminum bodywork, which significantly reduces weight and has a positive effect on both agility and handling as well as fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Video: Ferrari 308 vs. Toyota Camry, DeLorean vs. Toyota Sienna on The Car Show

The Car Show Videos: Ferrari 308 vs. Toyota Camry, DeLorean vs. Toyota Sienna. Our favorite cars from when we were younger aren't always the exciting machines we expect them to be. Matt Farah and Dan Neil decided to explore this idea on a recent episode of The Car Show. Neil picked a Ferrari 308 GTS while Farah went with the gullwing-wearing DeLorean DMC-12. Both are sports cars from an older era, and serve as perfect examples of misplaced idolatry.

The Car Show: Ferrari 308 vs Toyota Camry, DeLorean vs Toyota Sienna
Each host provided a modern machine to use in a drag race against the older vehicles. Lining up at the strip in his 308, Neil faced down Farah who piloted a 2010 Toyota Camry SE. To combat Farah's DeLorean, Neil called a 2010 Toyota Sienna SE into action.

We won't spoil the results, but you can probably guess which vehicles wound up victorious. Still, it makes for an amusing video, which you can watch after the jump.
